On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies, in cooperation with the Department of Political Science, organized a digital public lecture entitled "The 'Deep Colonialism' Model in Palestine: Oslo as an Example and an Extension", presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Hroub, Professor of Contemporary Middle Eastern Politics at Northwestern University. The lecture and discussion was moderated by Dr. Lord Habash, Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science. The lecture was broadcast live on Birzeit University's Facebook page.

conference: The Palestinian national authority to where?

The Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute for International Studies concluded the annual conference, “The Palestinian National Authority to where?”, which was held over two days, Monday and Tuesday, May 29-30, 2023.

The conference discussed the reality of the Palestinian National Authority, the problems of the Palestinian political system, the relationship of the Palestinian National Authority with the occupying power, and the impact of international and regional changes on the Palestinian Authority and its future.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies and the Master of International Studies program, in cooperation with the Department of Political Science / Faculty of Law and Public Administration, organized a public lecture entitled "The Evolution of the Regional Power Structure in the Middle East", presented by Dr. Nuri Yesilurt, Professor of International Relations at the University of Ankara, the lecture was moderated by the Professor of  Political science and International relations at Birzeit University Dr. Abed Al Rahman Haj Ibrahim.
