Jordanian Representative Expounds on Palestine-Jordan Ties

 

As part of its Diplomacy Meetings, Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies, in cooperation with the Political Science Department, hosted the Jordanian Representative to Palestine Mr. Khalid Al-Shawbkah on Thursday, February 23, 2017, and organized a lecture on the Jordanian foreign policy and the Jordanian – Palestinian relations.

A training course in strategic communication, first module

The first module of the course was conducted between the 20th of September and the 8th of November 2014. Thirty specialists in communication, public relations and media, from the private sector, the public sector and NGOs took the course.

Ibrahim Abu Lughod Institute for International Studies, in coordination with the Council for British Research in the Levant, hosted Dr. Jason Hickel, anthropologist at the London School of Economics, for a week, where Dr. Hickel gave a series of lectures on international development and political economics.

A specialized Training Course in Strategic Communication, Second Module

 

The second module of the training course was conducted between the 31st of January and the 28th of March 2015. 25 workers in the private and public sectors and NGOs participated in the course, which is worth 40 credit hours.

Launch of the African Studies Program

In cooperation with the Representative Office of South Africa in Ramallah, IALIIS organized a session on the 27th of April 2015, to discuss the foundations of academic cooperation between Africa and Palestine, in order to launch the African Studies Program at IALIIS. The project aims at filling the knowledge gap between Palestine and South Africa, learning from the South African experience of liberation, and adopting the strategies that ended the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
