The collapse of the Soviet Union in the late 1980s, precisely in 1989 after the fall of the Berlin wall, led to radical changes in the form of the international system. The international system was based on what was known as the era of a “bipolar system”, with the eastern camp led by the Soviet Union and the Western camp led by the United States of America.
