Israel’s Fascist Policy of Administrative detention: Maher Al Akhras Yet another ‎Fighting Icon standing up to it

This paper clarifies the role practiced against Palestinians by the Israeli Occupation in administrative detention which is considered as a war crime. The paper will highlight the case of the Palestinian Detainee Maher Al Akhras which is on an open-ended hunger strike for more than 90 days to protest aginst administrative detention.

The paper indicates that the Israeli occupation forces arrested the prisoner Maher Al-Akhras, 50, from his city, Jenin, on July 27, 2020 and he’s married and a father of six and previously administratively detained for a period of more than 4 years. The paper received the intransigence and insistence of the occupation authorities to continue arresting Maher administratively and violate his human right, in addition to clarifying the entity’s policies and prison management violations of the right of Palestinian prisoners and the repercussions of the hunger strike by detainees, its beginnings and its isolation in recent years.

Some strategies will also be proposed and presented in order to emphasize as much as possible the internationalization of the issue of the prisoners and preserve the right of Maher Al Akhras and other Palestinian detainees to go on hunger strike in response to the arbitrary and illegal measures taken by the occupation authorities against them.
