Dr. Raed Bader participated in a Round table discussion in France entitle: “Researchers between Freedom and Fear”
Dr. Raed Bader participated in a roundtable discussion organized by the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Research in Marseille and the topic of which was: researchers between freedom and fear. This meeting came on the sidelines of the eighteenth edition of the "Encounters of Averroes", - "Ibn Rushd"-organized annually in the French city of Marseille. The theme for this year was, "Europe and Islam:freedom or fear."
Memorandum of Understanding between Birzeit University and UNRWA
On November 21st, 2011, The Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UNARWA so as to enhance cooperation between the two parties in shared fields and objectives. This memorandum was signed between Dr. Munir Qazzaz , the vice president for community outreach at Birzeit University, and Mr. Philipo Grandi, the commissioner General of Unrwa, during the annual Conference held by the Ibrahim Abu- Lughod Institiute of International Studies entitled “Palestinian Refugees: Different Generations but One Identity”.".

Dr. Asem Khalil participated in a conference organized by ETG - the European Training Foundation, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the skills dimension of migration in the Euro-Mediterranean countries, in presence of experts from Europe and the Arab countries.

A lecture on the European Union: History, Law and Institutions entitled: “The European Parliament: a rising Star?”
On Thursday November 24, 2011the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies hosted Mr. Felix Dane, Representative to the Palestinian Territories Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Ramallah, for a lecture within a course entitled “The European Union: History, Law and Institutions.” The title of the lecture was “The European Parliament: a rising Star?” in which Mr. Dane discussed the European Parliement (EP) vis a vis other EU Institutions, the EP as an international actor, and ways of influencing the EP.
