On September 28, 2011 the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies(IALIIS) at Birzeit University, celebrated the launching of its recent publications entitled: Palestinian Refugees: Rights, Narratives and Policies and Gaza-Palestine: Out of the Margins.
From October 3 - November 16, the assistant coordinator in the Forced Migration and Refugee Unit from the Ibrahim Abu- Lughod Institute of International Studies took an internship on Capacity Building in Population Studies under the supervision of Dr. Nivein Abu-Rmilah in the Institute of Community and Public Health.

On Saturday October 15th, 2011 the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies(IALIIS) held a workshop concerning the digitized Palestinian Archive project at Birzeit University. During this workshop the nature and importance of the archive was presented, in addition to the significance of preserving these valuable documents which contribute to preserving and documenting Palestinian history.
A new peer-reviewed article will appear for Dr. Asem Khalil in mid-November 2011, on Socioeconomic Rights of Palestinian Refugees in Arab Countries, Vol.23, N.4, pages 680-719.
Dr. Raed Bader participated in a roundtable discussion organized by the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Research in Marseille and the topic of which was: researchers between freedom and fear. This meeting came on the sidelines of the eighteenth edition of the "Encounters of Averroes", - "Ibn Rushd"-organized annually in the French city of Marseille. The theme for this year was, "Europe and Islam:freedom or fear."
