Two articles for Dr. Roger Heackok and Raed Eshnaiwer had been published in “Confluences-Méditerranée” (Paris). Below are details of the two articles:

Author: Roger Heackok.

Title: “Inter-Palestinian Relations During Dead Times.”

Abstract:

The paper argues  that, although the vast majority of the Palestinian people had supported a government of national union based on a program of fighting corruption and rejecting occupation, political maneuvering had made it impossible for the elected political party, Hamas, to govern alone, while the local and international boycott made any alternative impossible. The ensuing split of June 2007, after 20 years of trying by various means (struggle, negotiations, elections) to assert Palestinian self-determination, had resulted in paralysis and the dependence on outside forces, with little prospect for advancing the cause. The one source of hope was the experience accumulated in both the West Bank and Gaza, which could one day give rise to new initiatives rooted in effective governance.

Title: “In Its 23rd Anniversary… Hamas Movement to Where?

Abstract:  

The article tries to track the developments that happened to Hamas movement as a result of its first real political experience, which happened after winning the 2006 elections. Through that experience, Hamas tried to pair between resistance and the political work, and to employ the religion in the service of politics. This had great impact on Hamas itself and on the Palestinian political and struggle routes. The author provides a solution for Hamas to get out of its dilemma, through separating the government from the movement, which gives the movement larger space to maneuver.
